PATHWAY TO MEMBERSHIP
Is St. Luke’s your spiritual home? Would you like to become a member of St. Luke’s? Are you interested in learning more about Christianity, The Methodist Church, St. Luke’s and God’s call and desire for your life?
If so, we have intentionally designed a pathway to membership for you.
- There are FIVE classes that guide you along the way.
- Each class is FOUR weeks long.
- Childcare is provided for Learn classes by registering at www.st.lukes.org/childcare.
The first four classes are called Learn Classes, and while these classes are designed to be taken in succession, you are not required to take them in the designated order. The fifth class is the Decide Class. This is the final class in your series.

The following classes are offered
Sunday mornings from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. (Starting in May, Sunday classes will move to 11:00 a.m)
and Tuesday evenings from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Beginnings:
Taught by St. Luke’s Minister of Connection, Jad Denmark, this is an exciting introduction to Christian beliefs, history and practice. We will discuss subject matters including the Trinity, Theodicy and the Sacraments (Don’t know these terms? Perfect! Learn them with us). Who is God and how do we understand the concept of God? Who is Jesus and what is his purpose in our lives? Through presentation and discussion, Pastor Jad will introduce the persons of the Trinity and basic Christian beliefs. Beginnings is offered in January, March, May & August 27 - September 22 and meets in Building C Room 201-203.
Bible Basics:
Taught by St. Lukers, Sharon Adelhelm and Ginger Jackson, this accomplished team has taught various bible classes at St. Luke’s including the in depth Disciple course. They bring passion and knowledge to this course making for a fun and enjoyable learning experience. Discover how to use this all-time best seller and grow in understanding of its history, structure, and message. Learn helpful hints to broaden understanding and ease the way to enjoyment and application of the scriptures. Bible Basics is offered in February, April, June, and September 29 - October 22 and meets in Building C Room 201-203.
Wesley Way:
Taught by St. Luker, Shelly Denmark and the Minister of Care, Dr. David Stephens, this course spends two weeks on the story of John Wesley and the Methodist movement and two weeks on Wesleyan Theology. Who is this John Wesley who founded the Methodist Church and what did he believe? What is so unique about him and the denomination we call our own? Learn about Wesley and how his values continue to impact the modern church. Wesley Way is offered in January, March, May & August 27 – September 22 and meets in Building C Room 208-210.
St. Luke's 101:
Taught by Executive Director of Missions, Lynette Fields and Director of Adult Discipleship, Joline Krolicki, this class is designed to acquaint participants with the St. Luke’s DNA. This class covers who we are, what our core values are, what our mission is, and how we operate. Topics include how we build the Kingdom by Building Disciples, the position of the Methodist church on Social Principles and St. Luke’s perspective and participation in Missions. This class will reveal the uniqueness and passion of this, the largest Methodist Church in Florida. St. Luke’s 101 is offered in February, April, June, and September 29 – October 22 and meets in Building C Room 208-210.
Decide:
The fifth class is the Decide Class. This class is
held on Sunday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
The four weeks of the Decide Class will cover:
- Spiritual Disciplines: Taught by Joline Krolicki
- Bible in 12 Words: Taught by
Lead Pastor, Dr. William S. Barnes
- Commit: Discovering Joy through Simplicity and Generosity:
Taught by Executive Director of Operations, Kelly Smith
- Meet Jesus on the Road: Taught by Executive Director of Missions, Lynette Fields
The Decide Course is offered in March, May*, July, and October
* - There is no Decide Course on May 26 due to Memorial Day the final course will be on June 2.

Transferring from another United Methodist Church?
If you would like to transfer your membership from another United Methodist Church simply attend the three courses below:
- Wesley Way: Offered in January, March, May
and August 27 – September 22.
- St. Luke’s 101: Offered in February, April, June
and September 29 – October 22.
- Decide Course: Offered in March, May*, July, October.
(There is no Decide Course on May 26 due to Memorial Day the final course will be on June 2.)
