Read: Though one may be overpowered and two can defend themselves, a chord of three strands is not easily broken. Ecclesiastes 4:12
Chapter 10: The Me I Want to Be, "Do not worry alone."
Think About: I'm pretty good at worrying. Okay, make that really good at worrying. I have the ability to hold onto an idea and just work it over and over in my head, trying to find that solution to whatever problem is at hand. I can get so wrapped up in what I have no chance of controlling that I begin to lose sight of important things. I don't ask for help, I don't talk about it, I don't let anyone near me.
I've always heard: "Don't worry, it will work out," when things started to get a little sticky. Frankly, I never could quite understand that statement.
"What do you mean, "don't worry?" Can't you see that this is about to become very difficult? I know it will work out, but I'm not liking the options I'm seeing here!"
I'll be honest. I'm not entirely sure that is what was always being said, but I do know that is what I heard, and as a result, I tended not to share. Therefore, I was trying to go it alone.
The Amazing Powerful Person, has someone to walk with, someone to share burdens with. The Amazing Powerful Person is not alone. This person has Jesus and Jesus with skin on in another human being.
The key here is not that the Amazing Powerful Person doesn't ever worry. I know that sometimes they do, but they do not allow worry to become an all-consuming event. They are able to share it with another, and by doing so, they can break the power that the worry has.
Pray this Prayer: Heavenly Father, Thank you for your promise of provision. Help me to see where you are providing so that I may trust you. Show me those that I may confide in, so that we may walk together, and allow you to break the hold of worry on us. Amen.
You are invited and encouraged to share your thoughts, feelings and experiences with the spiritual practices at the Easter Devotional Blog. We are on this journey together and your words may help another along the way.
