ArtWorks brings God's love to hurting children through art. Throughout the school year professional artists volunteer their time and talents to conduct weekly art classes with children residing in group foster care at Great Oaks Village. (Children living in foster care have been removed from their homes due to parental abuse, neglect or abandonment.) ArtWorks encourages these children to recognize their individual artistic talents as gifts from God while building confidence and self-esteem. Participants explore a variety of art media and take part in field trips to learn about art related careers. Their accomplishments are celebrated with art exhibits in the spring.
Classes meet Friday evenings at Great Oaks Village in downtown Orlando 7:00p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Classes are held September - November and January - April
Art supplies for classes are purchased and provided by ArtWorks or
