Spiritual Formation Spiritual Formation happens in a variety of ways in the life of every disciple. We grow in our relationship with God through worship, service to others, personal devotion, group life and other practices. This particular informational piece focuses on Spiritual Formation group life opportunities. These opportunities are broken into two segments. "Learning Communities" and "Growth Groups." 2009 Fall Spiritual Formation Guide - Click to download it "Learning Communities" are group opportunities of various sizes and offered to share the basics of who we are called to be as followers of Jesus at St. Luke's. These classes will be taught by pastors or lay people who have expertise and passion around their particular topic. Learning Communities are a great way to engage for the first time if you are new to St. Luke's or can be helpful to those just wanting a "refresher." "Growth Groups" are places where Christians gather to study, pray, and engage in respectful, challenging conversation in order to be formed more in the image of Jesus. These are also groups of various sizes and can be on-going, long-term, or short-term. Special Events for Spiritual Formation are planned from time to time. These events are typically a few hours to a full day in length and give short and spiritually-packed growth. If you have not already, we hope you will take this step on your faith journey and connect with one of these "learning communities" or "growth groups" this Fall! Registration is not required for learning communities or growth groups unless specifically noted in the descriptions. We offer a number of on-going small group classes that meet weekly.
