Congregational Care Minististries
Our St. Luke’s Congregational Care Ministries provide love and support during the joys and trials of life through group programs and individual ministries. Listed here are the ministries where you can find support or volunteer to assist others with the support that they need. If you are facing a challenge, have any questions, or want to serve as a volunteer, please call 407-876-4991, ext 262 or Dr. David Stephens, Minister of Nurture and Growth at 407-876-4991, ext. 233. In case of an emergency involving the death of a loved one or a hospitalization call 407-468-9418.

| Breast Cancer Support Group provides support to our church family and the community to help the individual and the family cope with breast cancer. The Support Group offers timely information, resources, fellowship, and promotes community-wide cancer awareness events. | | | | Canine Crusaders Ministry provides visitation by owners with their trained dogs to nursing home and medical facilities. Owners and their dogs attend a training course to prepare them for the kind of encounters they will face during the visitations. | | | | Chronic Illness /Cancer Support Groups – CH-ILL Out provides support to the congregation and community by helping the chronically ill/those with cancer and their families learn to cope. The meetings offer timely information, resources, and fellowship. | | | | Helping Hands Ministry provides a reception for the bereaved following a funeral or memorial service that is held at St. Luke’s. | | | | In-Home Care Ministry provides short-term support and care to individuals and families at times of crisis by teams of volunteers. These services include transportation and meals. | | | | Parent Support Ministry places a rose on the Baptismal font in celebration of a new baby’s arrival. Assembles & distributes a folder of information to new parents, community counseling center, childcare welcome window & new members with young children. We also offer parenting courses in conjunction with the community-counseling center. | | | | Opening Doors Ministry provides opportunities for full participation in church worship and programs to persons with special needs. This ministry is dedicated to making the church campus and programs open and easily accessible to all. | | | | Prayer Ministry develops a weekly prayer list that is available every Sunday, develops a confidential prayer list for the Monday morning intercessory prayer circle, provides prayer in the Chapel every Sunday, and Wednesday nights in the Chapel. | | | | Stephen Ministry training equips the lay person to be “caring listeners.” They provide a one-on-one listening relationship to persons with special problems or on-going needs. They are also trained to serve communion and to make hospital calls. | | |
