We invite adult couples and singles to join us for a year (September 2011 – May 2012) of creating lasting relationships with other church members and friends in small groups at hosts’ homes. (NOTE: Singles, you are very welcome to ask a friend so that you can participate as a couple.) The program centers on intriguing conversation, delicious food, and outstanding Christian fellowship with different people at each month’s dinners.
You will be scheduled to host 1 to 2 times during the season. The host provides the main dish and beverages and guests bring the rest to make a wonderful dining experience. The size of your dining room is not an issue. St. Luke’s members love to sit elbow to elbow enjoying delightful conversations and dinner! If your home does not allow you to be a host, you can choose to co-host with another host at their home – the more the merrier!
Activities for the Dinner for Eight include the Kick-Off in September to get to know the members who will be participating in the season, with host dinners occurring in October, November, and January through April. December is our Christmas event. The Grand Finale joint event is held in May.
The "Year End Party" will be Saturday, May 18, at 5:30 PM with a bus trip to the Hollerbach’s Willow Tree Café (German Restaurant) in Sanford. The bus fee is $15 per couple payable in advance to St. Luke's UMC by May 1. Each person will order from the restaurant menu and will be responsible for payment of their own dinner. Singles are welcome to create their own couple by inviting a friend.
Join us for great fun and fellowship! Meet new friends who will be participating in Dinner for Eight with you.
