Stewardship at St. Luke's
When we joined The United Methodist Church, specifically St. Luke's, we were asked the following questions: "Will you be loyal to The United Methodist Church, and uphold it by your prayers, your presence, your gifts, your service and your witness?" As we prepare to begin a new year we ask you to reflect on the meaning of this question and how you are upholding it:
Prayers Do you seek God's blessing on His church, St. Luke's in your prayers? Do you ask for guidance in your daily walk and seek God's direction for your life? Do you pray for those you know as well as those who have yet to enter your life?
Presence Do you attend worship on a weekly basis unless you are sick or out of town? Are you plugged into a small group where you can be present and grow in your spiritual formation with Christ?
Gifts Are you tithing (10%) or working towards the tithe in giving to St. Luke's? Are you striving to reach beyond the tithe in your other gifts and offerings?
Service Do you use your spiritual gifts and your life experience to serve others in the church, community and world? Does your personal use of time reflect this commitment?
Witness Do you share your personal witness with others? Do you invite them to worship and other activities to expose them to the life changing experience of Jesus Christ?
Thank you for your continued support of St. Luke's and its ministries.

"The world is changing. Our church is changing. Some say too fast others say
the opposite. Here are a couple of facts to consider. Over the past ten years our
membership has grown by 28%, our youth programs have grown by 78% and
the number of visitors is up 43%. The challenge is that our giving has remained
flat. Now is the time to rethink our church and where we want to be over the
next ten years."

"Faithful followers of Jesus have always responded to God's call on their lives by giving generously. As we look outside our doors into our community, we see people who are hurting, hungry, in search of meaning. Please join me in supporting our mission and ministry at St. Luke's as we seek to serve our God and our community."

Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) is the easiest, most cost-effective giving option for both you and the church. With EFT, you can reinforce your commitment to give your tithes and offerings to God first, before anything else. One easy step each year guarantees that the church will receive your gifts on a regular basis, even if you are out of town or you forget one week. And on a practical note, EFT reduces the need for additional staff to process offerings. The easiest way to choose EFT (learn more about EFT) is through our website; just follow the link to online giving. |
