A Note from Caryn Royer-September 26, 2019

I have a confession St. Lukers…

I’ve been humming the Hokey Pokey for a couple of weeks. Hear me out, let me explain!

When we moved into God’s Vocational School, we focused on Paul’s conversation of spiritual gifts in 1 Corinthians. In chapter 12, verses 13-31 we see that all of our different gifts work together to build the body of Christ and there is no need to wish for another gift–they each serve their own unique purpose.

Put your left foot in. Finding your passion was the first step into finding the way to live out who God calls us to be. Are you excited to reach beyond the church walls to share the love of Christ with others or to restore hope by assisting with helping to end hunger and homelessness in Central Florida?

Put your right arm in. God has wired and designed each of us to feel most comfortable focusing on building relationships with people or creating places and opportunities for ministry to happen. Whether we are unstructured or structured or prefer to work directly with people or on the tasks and structures we all work within; God has prepared each of us for this place, at this specific time.

Put your head in. Your spiritual gifts are the way that you live out your life in our community of believers. Each person’s spiritual gifts work together to achieve the HUGE vision we have in this community.

Put your whole self in. This Sunday, September 29 between the worship services, we will be hosting a Ministry Fair where you will be able to match your passions, your individual style, and your spiritual gifts. Visit the section that speaks to the way that you were wired (Task/Structured, Task/Unstructured, People Structured, People/Unstructured) to find out the unique ways to get involved with the mission and vision at St. Luke’s. Each ministry area has opportunities for you to use every tool God has given you to make God’s Neighborhood the best it can be.

That’s what it’s all about.

See you Sunday,

Caryn Royer
