A Note from Pastor Jad-April 4, 2019

Grace and Peace St. Lukers,

When I was a Youth Director one of things that would drive me nuts would be while on a youth trip the kids would randomly ask, “Are we there yet?” Soon there would be a volley of “Are we there yet?” I quickly learned to reply with “not yet, about an hour left.” even if we only had 5 minutes.

This fourth week of Lent, I’ve been thinking … “Are we there yet? Are we at Holy Week yet? Are we at Easter yet? Resurrection yet?” This journey, this Lent has been a powerful season, filled with transformative opportunities as we cultivate the Garden of our Souls, as we tarry in God’s Community Garden and practice our Spiritual Disciplines. But… are we there yet? Not yet, but we are more than half way there. I can see the Temple Mount raising on the horizon as we journey with Jesus closer to Holy Week and I can feel the anticipation as we journey closer to Palm Sunday and the powerful movements of Holy Week.

I hope this Lent has been a blessing and a challenge for you as it has been for me. Working the God’s Garden, practicing Spiritual Disciplines, journeying toward Holy Week. I hope you will join Pastor Corey and me this Sunday in worship as we explore Jesus’ parable about the fig tree and we explore the things that get in the way of God’s tending to our souls. Cause we are almost there.

See you Sunday,

Pastor Jad

P.S. Don’t forget Easter Fest is around the corner. If you haven’t volunteered before this is a great time to jump in and join in the fun as we invite our neighbors, families from our surrounding community, to have some fun with us as we share with them the Grace and Love of Jesus Christ.
