Adam began his involvement at St. Luke’s in the summer of 2012 as an intern in missions after receiving a Bachelors of Social Work degree from the Florida State University. He loved St. Luke’s so much that he returned as an academic intern again in the fall of 2013 to complete his graduate coursework. In December of 2013 he received his Masters of Social Work with a focus on Social Policy and Administration from the Florida State University! While receiving his degrees Adam worked at various jobs and internships including as a summer camp counselor at Warren W. Willis Camp, as a research assistant with the Institute for family Violence Studies at FSU, and as an intern and volunteer coordinator at the Big Bend Homeless Coalition. He was hired as the Associate Director of Neighborhood Ministries at St. Luke’s in June of 2014. He considers himself to be extremely lucky to have found his dream job at such an early age. His main responsibilities include maintaining a consistent relationship between St. Luke’s and the people and organizations in East Winter Garden, the focus of St. Luke’s Community Transformation Initiative.
When he isn’t living it up with the residents of East Winter Garden, Adam enjoys reading, riding his bicycle, playing volleyball, and travelling. In fact, through his passion for travel and missions, Adam has cultivated a close relationship with a small group of people from a village in Guatemala called Chontala. He considers that community to be his second family and is constantly looking forward to his next visit to Guatemala. Adam comes from a very close knit family. He has five sisters and six nieces and nephews and loves the time he gets to spend with them.
