Please congratulate Steve MacKinnon as he moves into additional responsibilities as the Director of Contemporary Music and Theater Arts. Steve has been employed with St. Luke’s in a 30-hour a week position overseeing the musical elements of Contemporary Worship. We have also contracted with him over the last few years to be the Director of our summer musicals. Due to the positive response we have received with regards to the musicals, the outreach they provide for the community and St. Luke’s, and the desire to continue with more theatrical productions per our 4D Vision, we have asked him to join us in this full-time position. Some of the responsibilities associated with this position will include continued direction over the summer musicals (as part of his position vs. being contracted), including more dramatic elements within our worship services and branching out to see how we can include more productions and instruction to support theater within St. Luke’s ministries. Much of the work Steve will be doing will prepare us to utilize Founder’s Hall (our new worship/multi-purpose building) for theater needs beyond just worship. He has some commitments with his relationships beyond St. Luke’s which will mean his time frame to move into this full-time role will be closer to the end of summer/beginning of fall. We are excited to have him full-time and cannot wait to see where this moves us in the future.
