Tornado Response Pictures
These pictures were taken on Sunday in New Smyrna Beach, an area hit by the weakest of three tornadoes that touched down on February 2nd. All the work that can be done right now is completed. Some of the homes were destroyed beyond repair. Everyone was waiting for adjusters (FEMA and other) before they move to the next stage of rebuilding. Zero deaths reported at this location. The supplies (1000 furring strips, 800 roofing nails, 600 8d nails) were dropped off to be split between New Smyrna and Deland.
Hurricane Response Update
WHAT HAVE WE BEEN DOING:
- December 1-3 a team traveled to Belle Glade and worked through CROS Ministries to help families in need recovering from recent hurricanes. They broke records by tarping a roof in only 45 minutes.
- December 9-11 a team traveled to Arcadia and worked through the ecumenical Long Term Recovery organization. They stripped and tarped a roof. See pictures below of both of these teams.
