A Message from Pastor Bill

Ok all you runners, the big day is this coming Sunday, November 19! At all of our worship services we will be receiving the pledge cards of dedicated and committed St. Luke’s disciples. I don’t know about you, but I have enjoyed this year’s stewardship emphasis as much as any we have ever had. I can say that because I wasn’t involved in any of the planning, except the sermon themes!

Already, those who turned in “advance race registrations” (pledge cards) total 239 households amounting to $1,001,201.

When you come to the altar rail to present your card, all the members of your family will receive their own “12:1-2” race buttons. I hope you will continue to wear them as discussion starters for your friends, and as additional encouragement to those who have not yet had a chance to make their commitment.

Through the holidays and into the new year, your leaders will be building a St. Luke’s ministry budget for fiscal year 2007-08. Your estimate of giving for that period will help us to wisely gauge our financial strength as we move forward.

Thank you to all of you who have already turned in your cards and are wearing the buttons. It is a high and humbling privilege to be your coach.

Bill
