Dear St. Lukers, “Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the Earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come into his presence with singing.” Psalm 100:1-2 We’ve got a great opportunity to hear lots of joyful noise and singing at the 11am worship experience this Sunday as the children’s choir presents: “Joseph: From the Pit to the Palace.” This musical will incorporate elements of the popular show “Stomp” complete with music and sound coming from the most unlikely places, including metal garbage cans, lids, pails, brooms and lots more. In the midst of the fun our children will be learning for themselves and teaching us the values of perseverance, trust in God and forgiveness. This will be a treat for our whole St. Luke’s family on Mother’s Day as we celebrate the abundant blessings and gifts God has poured out on each child who will open their heart to share. In our other worship experiences abundance will also be celebrated and claimed. We cannot spread our wings in Kingdom living if fear of “not having enough” keeps our wings and our things wrapped tightly around us. In a world that encourages an attitude of tight-fisted scarcity we are called, like the members of the early church, to model open-handed abundance. I look forward to seeing you at one or maybe two worship experiences on Sunday as the grace of God will be overflowing in lots of wonderful ways. I pray this as this grace fills our hearts we will not be able to help but share it with the world. Blessings, |
