A Note from Pastor BillBill Barnes

Dear family in faith:

This is going to be a brief update this week, because as you will find out, I have other things on my mind!

Tuesday, quite unexpectedly, and with the help of a lot of wonderful, fast moving doctors and nurses, my daughter Kristin gave birth to our first grandchild, Brady William Allgire. She had an emergency C-section at Winnie Palmer Hospital. Quite literally, every second counted. To give you an idea, Kristin and Sean called us from their car at 2:20 pm enroute to Winnie Palmer from their doctor's office near Dr. Phillips Hospital on Turkey Lake Road. The baby was born at 3:10! He is in neonatal ICU now, weighing in at 4 lbs, 14 oz, but doing fine. Kristin had a number of complications, but is also doing fine now. Kim and I finally got home and fell asleep at 3:00 a.m. that night.

I was not scheduled to preach this weekend, so we can spend the rest of the week getting all those things done that we thought we had more time to do before the baby came. I will be teaching "Exegesis" and "The Bible in 12 Words" on Thursday night as scheduled.

This week's messages are based on Luke 14:15-24, the parable of "The Great Banquet." We are going to be thinking about who is welcome in the family of God as we ReThink Church.

Please keep us all in your prayers, and thank you for being the family in faith into which Brady William will be baptized in a couple of months.

With faith, hope, and love,

Bill (aka "G-Daddy")
