Beach Bum Basketball & Sand Dune Soccer
Basketball sessions will focus on skill development through the use of drills designed to develop specific areas of the game. In a camp setting drills are typically repeated and reinforced until they begin to becomes second nature. This creats a "muscle memory" whereby the player finds it unnecessary to think about how to perform the skill; it just happens automatically. Skill development games are also used, especially for younger children as a means to keep them engaged and focused. Game situations are simulated through scrimmage play which is designed to reinforce learning from drills repitition. Players will be divided into age appropriate groups so drills can be tailored to that group. The daily scriptural themes will be reinforced within the context of the sport to emphasize teamwork, sportsmanship, fellowship, self-control, and reaching out to others. Basketball will be offered in the afternoon of both weeks of Kingdom Camp. Soccer will be offered in the morning session both weeks of Kingdom Camp. Please note that week B's session will be a repeat of week A's session.
