Dear St. Lukers,

Nancy and I are so thrilled to be at St Luke’s. We have been amazed at how friendly everyone has been and have enjoyed meeting so many new friends. As many of you know, my daughter, Amanda has been attending St Luke’s for a while and has always told me how much she loved the church. It has not taken us long to understand why. St Luke’s is so loving and has such a heart for people. I am so happy to be a part of the team doing ministry here.

It has been an eventful first week here at St Luke’s. My first day was filled with planning meetings with staff and leaders and has not slowed down yet. I was able to attend the Church Council meeting and watch our leaders work as they do the “business” of the church as well as plan for the future. I was able to come Saturday morning and serve alongside many of you as we cleaned up the grounds and prepared for the Trunks, Treats, and More event this Saturday evening. Sunday, I was able to experience three worship services and meet so many new people. We were able to go through the pumpkin patch and I attended our annual Charge Conference Sunday night. It has been a great first week.

There is so much to get involved in at St Luke’s and so many good things happening. Fall is an exciting time to be at St. Luke’s…with events like the pumpkin patch, Trunks, Treats, and More, our upcoming Military Ministry guest speaker, and the UMW Holiday Bazaar. I met a group of ladies last week who guaranteed me that this was the best Bazaar I will ever experience. I have enjoyed discovering all that St Luke’s has accomplished the last few years and listening to the dreams coming out of the 2020+ Vision sermon series which wraps up this week. I’m also looking forward to the kick off our Stewardship campaign on October 29.

Thanks so much for the warm welcome and I look forward to meeting each of you and doing ministry together. If you see me Sunday, make sure you introduce yourself “again” as I try to learn so many new names.

See you at church Sunday,
