A Note from Brandon Sangster-May 12, 2022

Dear St. Lukers and Class of 2022,

This is it. All the class hours, testing, games, and extra curriculars…the good and the bad has all led to this. The end of anything can bring about so many emotions. Some are excited and ready to face what’s next. However, some are filled with anxiety and worry. All the big feelings are valid, but one thing is for certain: we are all so blessed! “Blessed” can be an emotion too, right? I think I can speak for us all in saying that we are blessed to have you, the class of 2022, be part of our St. Luke’s family.

Take a moment to reflect on these words from Paul’s letter to the Corinthians:

“Every time I think of you – and I think of you often! – I thank God for your lives given by God through Jesus Christ. There’s no end to what has happened in you. It’s beyond speech, and beyond knowledge. The evidence of Christ has been clearly verified in you. Just think, you don’t need a thing, you’ve got it all! All God’s gifts are right in front of you as you wait with expectancy for all God has in store for you. Not only that, but God is right alongside you to keep you steady and on track. God, who got you started on this adventure, will never give up on you. Never forget that.”

As you move through the formalities, the ceremonies and celebrations that graduation brings, and even as you begin the next part of your journey, let the words from Paul’s letter be ours to you. Know that we are thinking of you. Know that we are so proud of the many things you’ve accomplished. Know that we believe through your God-given gifts, you will continue to do great things to reveal the Kingdom of God. Know also, that God will always be there alongside us – yes US – because we’ll always be connected through what we have here at St. Luke’s.

On behalf of St. Luke’s, I wish you all the best, but we’re not done yet! Let us celebrate YOU! This Sunday, May 15 at 9:30 a.m. in both worship venues, we will have class of 2022 graduates leading us, and we’ll play a special slideshow to recognize and congratulate all our St. Luke’s grads as we continue as a church family to celebrate and navigate life together.

See you in worship!

Brandon Sangster
