Grace and Peace my St. Luke’s Sisters and Brothers!
It’s almost here! I pray that these weeks of Advent have been a rich time of preparation for you and your family. All year we have navigated life and faith in God’s Neighborhood and here we are at the intersection of Humanity and Divinity, preparing for Jesus’ birth. I pray that you have found PEACE in moments of Holy Silence as well as REST, JOY in Worship, and this Sunday, LOVE as we seek God born among us.
I also want to invite you to a very special Blue Christmas Worship service Sunday Night (December 22) at 6:00 p.m. in Founder’s Hall. For some of us Christmas can be a painful time, it may be the first Christmas without a beloved family member; it may be a time that is difficult due to the pain of estrangement or a new diagnosis. This simple, liturgical service will be a powerful time of liturgy, song, candle lighting, and looking toward the Hope of Christ.
Then there are of course our three Christmas Preeve worship services on Monday, December 23. As is our tradition, we invite all St. Lukers to worship at any of our three Preeve Christmas candlelight services. By worshipping on Preeve, we make room for guests to worship on Christmas Eve. This also gives us St. Lukers an opportunity to volunteer as a greeter or usher and help welcome our guests with that St. Luke’s hospitality.
I look forward to seeing you this weekend.
Grace and Peace,
