A Note from St. Luke’s Staff-November 24, 2022

Happy Thanksgiving from your St. Luke’s Staff!

“Every time I think of you – and I think of you often! – I thank God for your lives of free and open access to God, given by Jesus. There’s no end to what has happened in you – it’s beyond speech, beyond knowledge. The evidence of Christ has been clearly verified in your lives. Just think – you don’t need a thing, you’ve got it all! All God’s gifts are right in front of you as you wait expectantly for our Master Jesus to arrive on the scene for the Finale. And not only that, but God himself is right alongside to keep you steady and on track until things are all wrapped up by Jesus.”

Corinthians 1:4-7 (The Message)

Dear St. Lukers,

We are so blessed to be able to work, serve, and grow alongside you as the congregation of St. Luke’s. It is an honor to have a front-row seat to what God is doing in your lives and to see the incredible gifts God has entrusted you with to help us awaken disciples and reveal the Kingdom in our neighborhood, community, city, and across the globe. Your passion, dedication, and generosity toward St. Luke’s is Christ’s legacy VERIFIED through how you LEAD your lives in such powerful ways. Thank you for letting us work with you to make St. Luke’s what it is for so many people, and for the glory of God.

We pray as you gather to cook, bake, clean, or rest and relax, that you are filled in even the smallest moments with feelings of blessings, grace, and love. May glimpses of heaven surround you. May each hand you hold during prayer, each moment of laughter, or even tears shed for those who might be missing, bring you God’s peace and put a song of praise in your hearts. It is a blessing to be in ministry with each of you and may blessings come back to you 100-fold this Thanksgiving.

We will see you on Sunday as we begin our Advent journey, and Make Room in each of the Gospel writers’ homes for the coming of Christ. We will gather as one congregation for combined worship at 9:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. in the Sanctuary, where we will have a very special guest joining us! Bishop Ken Carter of the Florida Conference will be here to give a word to St. Luke’s in his last month of leadership in our conference. Bishop Carter will also be presiding over Communion as we gather at Christ’s table of welcome, love, and grace. Please join us for this very special kick-off to the Advent season.

Blessings,

Your St. Luke’s Staff
