Dear St. Lukers,

Our hope is that you are reading your 3 Simple Rules and spending daily time reading the scripture plan we offered on Sunday. More books are available if you want to come by the office to pick one up, and you can click here to follow the daily reading plan if you missed it.

This week we are sharing about the rule “do good.” What if in the midst of all this decision making at the General Conference level of our denomination (which begins Saturday), we right here in our local Central Florida community, FLOODED our neighbors with acts of goodness and kindness? What if we at St. Luke’s took on the challenge to do so much good in the name of Jesus and in the name of our church that the buzz on the street completely overshadowed any other news? Sunday, we invite you to come to worship with some ideas of your own and we will share some more ideas along with cards for you to pass out with every act of goodness you offer someone. Come and pick up 10 or 20. Bake cookies, take someone out for coffee, wash your neighbor’s car, buy someone lunch and give them an act of kindness card. Buy a candy bar or gift card when you go through the line at the grocery store and then hand it to the cashier with a St. Luke’s act of kindness card. Leave a bigger tip and leave a card with it for your favorite cashier at the market. This world and our community need some love, goodness and kindness…so why not let it start with us.

One of the acts of kindness is to invite someone to be your guest on Sunday not only for worship but to have their kids or themselves DIVE IN between every service. There will be Kona Ice and other activities as we invite children, youth and adults to DIVE IN to spiritual formation and connection opportunities like Bible studies on Wednesdays, youth mission trips, flag football, summer camps, and Vacation Bible School.

We can’t wait to see you and your friends this Sunday because, it’s not St. Luke’s without U!

Grace and Peace,

Jenn.
