Dear St. Lukers,

If you were with us in September and October of last year, you participated in worship in our 2020+ Vision. You may remember that we spent time discovering our giftedness, dreaming about how our strengths can meet God’s mission for us as a congregation and the longing of the community, and designing the next chapter of how St. Luke’s will build disciples and build the Kingdom in the next 5 years. Your feedback along with studies of our church and community demographics, showed we have been on the right track and you want us to go deeper!

A Vision Team has been working since October to prepare a high-level overview of where we could head. Led by myself and Jim Atchison, our Vision Chairperson and long-time St. Luker, we have developed six Pillars with aspirational visions to help us build disciples of all ages on our campus as well as build the Kingdom in our community. Below is an update from Jim on where we are and where this exciting new vision will take us.

Jim, his wife Elli, and their three children, have been St. Lukers and active servant leaders since 2002.

The 2020+ Vision team consists of 26 St. Lukers. This diverse group of men and women – representing various generations, professional backgrounds, ethnicities, worship formats and lifestyles – have been working together over the past 5 months. During that time, we have commissioned research to learn more about the changes taking place in our community, organized feedback sessions with church members and staff, and conducted surveys during worship to better understand the opportunities we have to answer God’s call as a congregation. All this input has been enormously helpful and we are excited to share the initial data. You can click the button below to view a draft of the 2020+ Vision Booklet and we will have copies available on Sunday for you to pick up outside of each worship venue. In the back is an area for your personal reflection as well. If you have questions or feedback, you can contact any of the Vision Team listed in the booklet or reach out to one of our Executive Staff as well.

Over the coming weeks and months, you will see more about the 2020+ Vision as we seek to organize the key themes that will drive what we do and how we do it. We look forward to sharing these plans with you.

Grace and Peace,

Jim Atchison

2020+ Vision Chairperson
