Hey everyone, happy Thursday. It’s Pastor Corey here. I’m in the Rotunda of the Welcome Hall, which just this past Sunday was filled with many of you hustling and bustling through here with our Open House.
You see, that’s indicative of this time of year as we settle into this fall season. For us as a family, that means school has started back, waking up early, getting one to high school, one to middle school. And I know that’s the same for many of you.
Even if you don’t have children and youth in the house or going back to school yourself, here as a congregation, we together are settling into this fall season. We’ve already had a few things that we’ve kicked off. Just last night, we had Faith and Forks here, and soon we’ll all kick off a new series.
We just left Drama Class for three weeks, where we looked at the Three General Rules: Do no harm, do good, stay in love with God. Well, now we move from Drama Class into History Class.
We’ll be here for the next six weeks as we look back at our Methodist and Wesleyan history together and think and explore how that infuses where God is calling us to go.
This Sunday, we’re going to turn to Exodus 1 and 2, and we’re going to talk about history in the making. Well, that’s exactly what we’ve already done in just these last couple weeks.
You see, we have a special announcement. We right now have an interim Director of our Elementary Children’s Ministry. It’s a very, very familiar face and a person that y’all will know. But here is Jeni Roop.
Jeni Roop: Hi, everyone.
Pastor Corey: Our interim director for at least three months. We give God thanks for her and for her gifts that she brings to our Grow Team and to the overall life of the church in this particular way. Anything you want to say?
Jeni Roop: Uh, yes. So last night, Wednesday programming kicked off for kindergarten through fifth grade with me and also for the preschool with Miss Kelli.
And if you didn’t get to come last night, no worries. We would love to have you this Sunday for 9:30 or 10:00 up in the Treehouse, which is right above there.
We’d love to have you come, you know, just have some fellowship, connection, and yeah, I can’t wait to meet you all.
We’ll see you soon. Y’all have a good rest of the day. We’ll see you Sunday. God bless you. Peace. Bye.
