Two Big Red Buses will be at St. Luke’s on Sunday, February 21, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. near Building C. Donors age 16 who weigh at least 110 pounds may donate with parental consent. For youth age 17, no consent is needed. Photo ID required. Pre-scheduling your time slot is strongly encouraged. OneBlood is able to take walk-ins but it will depend on how many remaining slots are open. Sign up link coming soon.
All donors will receive a free COVID-19 antibody test, long sleeve shirt and if you donate 2 times between January and April you will receive a $25.00 Carrabba’s gift card and a free wellness checkup. The antibody test is authorized by the FDA and will indicate if the donor’s immune system has produced antibodies to the virus, regardless of whether they ever showed symptoms. Donors’ results will be available within approximately 48 hours. In addition to donors learning if they have the antibody, OneBlood will be identifying additional people who can be COVID-19 convalescent plasma donors.
All donors will be asked to provide their cell phone number upon arrival so they can wait in their car or outside a Big Red Bus. Social distancing and masks will be required. Donors will be called when it is their turn to donate blood. Contact the Care office with any questions.
