Watch the video message from Pastor Corey below as he shares this week’s update from the dock on Lake Griffin at Warren Willis Camp, a place that has deeply shaped him over the past three years through prayer and time with God. His time there has transformed and prepared him to return to St. Luke’s, connecting his personal transition to our Lenten “Crossroads” series within Love University.
As noted in his video:
- Don’t miss your chance to see HymnSong, with two performances only: Saturday (February 28) at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday (March 1) at 2:30 p.m.
- Pastor Jenn’s final worship service will be on March 8 at 10:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary, with a special additional service that same day at 2:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary, which will be followed by a reception in Founder’s Hall.

Hey everyone, it’s Pastor Corey here. I thought I would bring the weekly update to you in a different way this week. You see, the perspective that you just received is what I’ve had the past three years as Carol, Gavin, and I have lived here in this camp parsonage and have enjoyed this private dock here on Lake Griffin. You see, I’ve sat here on this dock just about every morning, a lot of mornings the past three years, having conversations with our Lord. Often time as the sun has risen just above the horizon behind you, as it’s changed, as it’s transformed from dark to light. You see, I wanted you to know this perspective because here it’s in these moments that I believe that the spirit of God has grown and shaped and transformed me. You see, I believe that we’ve been able to help camp these past three years in this appointment. And I believe that it was preparing me, transforming me, in order to return back to St. Luke’s to be one of the pastors there.
You see, it also shapes and it also shows that Pastor Jenn and I are living into this sermon series that we’re in right now. As you know, we are in Love University all year long. And right now, during Lent, we’re in the series of Crossroads. We’re studying what it looks like to live in and to be in these intersections of our lives. And yes, Pastor Jenn and I are literally between, we’re caught in the crossroads between two full-time appointments. As she preached this past Sunday, control and trust, I now prepare for us to be in the intersection between certainty and transformation.
And so, this week, we will look at a man that also spent time having a conversation with Jesus. His name is Nicodemus, and he’s found in John chapter 3. And that passage of course includes and declares one of the most famous and well-loved verses in all of scripture, John 3:16, which of course starts, “For God so loved the world.” Well, this Sunday we’ll talk about how this love changes us when we are caught in crossroads. When we are in the intersection between certainty and transformation, yes, we’ll realize that whenever we find ourselves in those positions, in those intersections, God’s love is still for us and God’s love is shaping and growing us.
That’s exactly what I feel has happened in this spot right here, looking out on beautiful Lake Griffin, seeing the wildlife, the ducks, the birds, even the gators, even the gators, as I’ve just spent time with the spirit of God. You know in that passage Jesus talks about the spirit being like the wind, not knowing where it’s coming from or where it’s going but being able to feel it. Well, right now I feel it and possibly you hear it. And so, we thank God and trust God for God’s spirit moving even in this transition for us as a congregation and for Jenn and John, her family, for my family as well, as we prepare for Sunday.
Go back and read John chapter 3. And also, if you can, click on the link below of The Chosen and you’ll see the scene between Jesus and Nicodemus. As you do, prepare to just home in on the ways and trust the ways that God is changing you. As we do so, I want to remind you of the opportunities that we have this upcoming weekend. We have the HymnSong concert. We’ll have one Saturday evening at 7 and then Sunday at 2:30. And then one last reminder that the following Sunday, March 8th, will be Pastor Jenn’s final Sunday preaching with us. We’ll have one combined service at 10:00 a.m. and then we will have her celebration at 2:30 p.m. I hope that you’ll plan to be there for this wonderful celebration of who she is to all of us, her pastoral ministry and her continued love for us as we all continue to go through this crossroads. I love you. God bless you. Peace.
