The climate crisis is real and urgent, and it is tied to histories of colonialism, white supremacy, and enslavement that have shaped how land, labor, and life are treated and valued. This 3-week course invites participants to explore climate change as both an environmental and a moral crisis and to consider how faith communities are called to respond.
Drawing on Christian traditions of stewardship, care ethics, restorative justice, and reparations, we will consider how ecological harm has been unevenly experienced and what it means to care for the earth in ways that repair broken relationships. The course moves beyond individual choices to examine shared responsibility, collective action, and what faithful care for creation looks like in a warming world.
We are partnering with The Candler Foundry to offer this course. It’ll be facilitated by Dr. Joi Orr, Assistant Professor of Christian Ethics, Interdenominational Theological Center.
Join us Wednesdays starting April 8 from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. on Zoom!
