Grieving the loss of a loved one or know someone who is? The upcoming holiday season can be especially painful and sad for those who are grieving. St. Luke’s is offering a free in-person program called GriefShare: Surviving the Holidays on Sunday, November 2 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Barnes Learning Center, Room 210 (second floor of Founder’s Hall adjacent to Building C). Our program is led by our GriefShare lay team who have experienced intense loss themselves and lead weekly GriefShare sessions. Whether this is your first, second, or tenth holiday season after your loved one’s death, the emotions that arise at this time of year can blindside you. Our program helps provide support and direction to assist you navigate the holidays in a healthy way. All are welcome. Participants will learn:
- How to deal with emotions
- What to do about traditions
- Helpful tips for surviving social events
- How to find hope for the future
