Hello everyone. Happy Holy Thursday. I’m Reverend Corey Jones, coming to you on my second day here as lead pastor. As you can see, I’m standing outside the Youth Center where you have the opportunity these last few days of Holy Week to walk to Prayer Labyrinth.
You see, you have the invitation to come spend some time in prayer walking with the Lord. And a labyrinth is not a maze, as you know, but an intentional way for us to spend time to walk, to pray as the labyrinth leads you all the way to the center, and then back out into the world.
As you can see, the space is ready. There’s light music. There’s candles and just a nice atmosphere to prepare our hearts, our spirits, not only to walk with God here in this moment during prayer, but also to walk with our Lord as he goes through his passion in the last few days and the last hours of his life.
I hope in addition to the labyrinth that you will be with us in just a few hours this evening for our Mandy Thursday service, “mandate” Thursday where we receive the love commandment from our Lord Jesus. Be here at 7 o’clock in the sanctuary. We will be led by our praise team for an incredible service. And then come back tomorrow night, grab some black clothes, as we also meet in the sanctuary at 7 p.m. for Good Friday service, as we commemorate the death, the crucifixion of our Lord Jesus, one of the most powerful days in our Christian year, and one of the most powerful services that we can behold.
And so I pray that you will be here tonight at 7 p.m. and then tomorrow night, Good Friday, 7:00 p.m. And then of course joining us for one of our four services Easter Sunday morning where we will proclaim the mystery and the core of our faith that Jesus Christ is risen, that he is risen indeed. We hope to see you these next two services and then one of the services on Easter Sunday where we come and celebrate and then are sent back out
into the world to proclaim it.
I love you all. God bless you. We’ll see you soon. Peace.
