St. Luke’s Welcomes New Director of Children’s Ministries:
Lana Stevens
Lana Stevens has over 7 years of professional experience in children’s ministry and most recently worked part-time in the children’s ministry at First Baptist Church Orlando. She has had responsibilities in volunteer management, original content writing and coordination of drama and games around a theme on a weekly basis as well as at Vacation Bible School. Her strengths in ministry include being inclusive, a team player, and leading by example.
In Lana’s ideal children’s ministry, children feel welcomed no matter what. She utilizes volunteers to speak into children’s faith formation. Lana strives to help parents stay connected and know the church is there to help them by giving them the tools they need to be great parents and faith leaders for their children. Lana will draw on her years of experience as well as her bachelor’s degree in music theatre to incorporate visual art expression, music, and theatre to help empower children.
In her free time, Lana enjoys bike riding with her husband and two sons in their neighborhood, journaling, painting, cooking and going to theatre shows.
