The main task of The Host is just that. You’ll be the “Youth Connection Point” persons. You are the first person and the first smile that youth will see. You’ll greet youth (and/or parents and other youth ministry volunteers) with a main objective to make all feel welcome and as if they’ve “come home” as soon as they arrive. You will embody our phrase “You Belong”, as you get youth checked in, welcome them into our space, and see that connections are being made so no one is left in the margins. A “koinonia”, or true and authentic community is what you will help create for our youth. Snacks in the kitchen, coffee in the café, or jumping into a game of 9 Square… however you see fit. With that, another task of this team will be to help develop a team of Student Leaders to connect and care by navigating and celebrating life, and building community through radical hospitality, and social/fellowship events. The Connect Team’s main goal is to create (and maintain) a culture of community and inclusion within our ministry, living out our
statement “You Belong”.
Needed: 6 volunteers on a weekly basis; team will grow as ministry continues to grow
