In this week’s video, our pastors reflect on one of St. Luke’s core values: discipleship. From children discovering God’s love at VBS and youth serving as leaders, to mission teams heading out to serve and adults growing through study and fellowship, discipleship is happening across every generation. The video also celebrates a special milestone as incoming Associate Pastor Jayde is ordained in her home conference. Join us as we explore how following Jesus shapes our lives, and how you never know where a walk with the Lord might lead.
Hi everyone. Happy Thursday. It’s us, your pastors. We’re in the sanctuary for what’s been an incredible week, and we just wanted to come to you as we continue to talk about our core values. This week, we see that discipleship matters.
This week, we have had hundreds of kids here in this room learning more about God and what it means to be all in at VBS. We have had youth volunteers serving with them, learning leadership skills, and growing in their faith as well. It’s been so exciting to see all of the children and youth grow in their faith in Jesus Christ.
Our youth who are volunteering on Monday are taking off on their mission trip. The high schoolers are heading to Tennessee for continued hurricane relief. We recognize that service is an important part of discipleship and growing in our faith.
Also, throughout the summer, we’re so excited for all of our adult discipleship groups that are continuing with book studies, Bible studies, and fellowship time together. All of it is part of being discipled in the faith of Jesus Christ.
And we never know where that walk with the Lord, that discipleship, will lead us.
Today, our incoming Associate Pastor, Reverend Jayde, is being ordained in her home conference. We congratulate her and give thanks to God for her gifts and the call of God upon her life.
We hope you’ll join us this Sunday for worship as we look at and talk about this core value of discipleship. You never know where a walk with the Lord will lead. We hope to see you Sunday.
God bless you. We love you. Peace.
