Walking alongside you is our greatest journey and honor

JULY Highlights

Stephen Ministry

Supportive presence when you need it

While Stephen Ministers are not pastors or professional counselors, they have 50 hours of training that includes active listening, confidentiality, and trust building. They cannot provide counsel or advice but will walk alongside you during life’s storms such as job loss, grief, divorce/separation, relocation, etc., and offer loving care, prayers, compassion, and support.

Our leader, Lisa Apikos shares how Stephen Ministers can be a precious gift.
Learn what she says HERE.

Women are matched with female Stephen Ministers and

“There are only four kinds of people in the world. Those who have been caregivers, those who are currently caregivers. Those who will be caregivers, and those who will need a caregiver.”

Spotlight on TAI CHI

Tai Chi, Meditation and Qigong meets on
Tuesday mornings at 9:00 a.m.
outside at the Torrence Pavilion and is
led by St. Luker and Sifu Al Aki.

Tai Chi, also known as meditation through movement, is a gentle, low-impact, ancient Chinese martial art that involves a series of slow, deliberate movements, physical postures, meditation, and controlled breathing and is a gentle form of exercise for all ages and abilities. Qigong uses exercise to optimize energy within the body, mind, and spirit, with the goal of improving and maintaining health and well-being.

No registration is required and walk-ins are welcome. The first class is free, then $2.00 per class.
For additional questions, please contact Al HERE.

Reception Team needs additional volunteers

Are you the “hostess with the mostest”? This might be just for you!

YOU can be part of a team that provides a caring and calm presence for families after their loved one’s Memorial Service. Volunteers help set up and break-down food service for receptions and we are looking to build this team to allow more flexibility with those that serve.

Contact our Director of Care Ministries, Kim Paredes HERE to learn more
about how this team uses their spiritual gifts during difficult times.

Upcoming Events on Campus

Theatre at St. Luke’s

Theatre at St. Luke’s invites you to THE PROM, a joyful, high-energy musical comedy with a whole lot of heart. This Broadway hit follows a group of self-absorbed stage stars who descend on a small Indiana town to champion a high school student barred from bringing her

girlfriend to prom. Filled with humor, dazzling music, and heartfelt moments, THE PROM is a story about courage, compassion, and what it truly means to show up for one another.

The graphic features the title "the PROM" in colorful, glittering letters, with a disco ball and event dates August 6-16.

Community Corner Extending our CARE beyond our campus

Donate a Backpack

St. Luke’s Missions Team is collecting backpacks (no wheels or cartoon characters, please) to help kids and teens start the school year strong. Bring your empty backpack donation back to St. Luke’s campus by Sunday, July 5!

Don’t have time to shop? Make a donation towards the purchase of backbacks and the supplies.
You can also sign up to help stuff the backpacks on July 12.

Serve Sunday

Join us in the Coleman Gymnasium on August 2 as we pack snack bags, create hygiene kits, and make sandwiches for local ministries as we help address food insecurity for our neighbors.

All supplies will be provided.

Come to the gym at 11:00 a.m. for this meaningful way to make an impact. This is a family-friendly opportunity!

Let us know how we can care for you!

Allow us to walk alongside you during the joys and trials in your life by lovingly supporting you in your journey through prayer, assisting with resources, and our many Care Ministries.
