St. Luke’s values the importance of access to tools to support your mental wellness. Cultivating your mental health is as important as maintaining your spiritual health. People often don’t get mental health services because they don’t know where to start.  The links below include emergency resources and resources to achieve daily balance.

Emergency Resources

  • Emergency Medical Services: 911
    • if the situation is potentially life-threatening, get immediate assistance by calling 911, 24 hours a day
  • The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is now The 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifelinecall or text 988
    • if you or someone you know is suicidal or in emotional distress. The Lifeline provides 24/7, free and confidential support for people in distress, prevention and crisis resources for you or your loved ones, and best practices for professionals in the United States. The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is a national network of local crisis centers that provides free and confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Lifeline is comprised of a national network of over 200 local crisis centers, combining custom local care and resources with national standards and best practices.

  • Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)1-800-662-HELP (4357)
    • SAMHSA’s National Helpline (also known as the Treatment Referral Routing Service) is a confidential, free, 24 hour a day information service, in English and Spanish, for individuals and family members facing mental and/or substance use disorders. This service provides referrals to local treatment facilities, support groups, and community-based organizations.
  • Disaster Distress Helpline: 1-800-985-5990 (call or text)
    • If you or someone you know is struggling after a disaster, you are not alone. Disaster Distress Helpline (DDH) is available to get help and support for any distress that you or someone you care about may be feeling related to any disaster.  You Are Not Alone. If you or someone you know may be depressed, suffering from overwhelming feelings of anxiety, or possibly abusing alcohol or drugs.
    • The Helpline and text service are available 24 hours a day, free, answered by trained crisis counselors
  • National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)
    • Crisis Text Line: text NAMI to 741-741 for 24/7 crisis support
    • NAMI support groups are no longer meeting on St. Luke’s campus. Click here or call 1-800-273-8255 to find a meeting place near you.
    • NAMI does offer both Connections and Family Support meetings every Tuesday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church in Rooms 14 and 15. Their address is 220 Horatio Ave W, Maitland, FL 32751.
    • NAMI also offers an online Family Support group on the first Monday of each month from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Registration is required. All meeting information, including Zoom link and password, will be sent on the day of the meeting. If you have never registered for an online support group meeting with NAMI, register here.
