Youth

St. Luke’s Youth Ministries believes in the ACCEPTANCE of ALL! We welcome you with loving HOSPITALITY into our Christ-Centered COMMUNITY, so that together we can grow in DISCIPLESHIP and SERVICE to others.

We invite you to come and be a part of our weekly youth ministry programming here at St. Luke’s! We are excited to  ReConnect and ReEngage with each other and our adult leaders in Community, Worship, and Grade GROUPS. We want you to come and take part in all God is doing here as we continue to create a Christ-Centered group for middle and high school students where You Belong to Beloved Community, You Grow to Awaken Disciples, and You Serve to Reveal The Kingdom.

     @StLukesUMCYouth

As we come back together, either in our groups, ReConnect events, etc., St. Luke’s top priority is the health and safety of our congregation, staff, and community. We want to create a healthy environment that attends to the physical, mental, and spiritual needs of our youth. In attending any St. Luke’s Youth gathering (on and/or off-campus), we ask that all youth and adults adhere to our guidelines.
Please see the COVID-19 PANDEMIC tab below for info and updates.

Welcome Home to Youth Group

We’ve always focused on growing in our faith, but what if we took it a step further? It’s time for us to Awaken Disciples as we continue growing through Community, Worship, and Grade GROUPS.

Each week (August-May) after a time of connection and worship, we will break off into Grade Groups. There, we will have fun and dive deep as we engage in relevant discussions about faith and how it impacts our lives and those around us.

2021-2022 Youth Ministry Programming Weekly Schedule

Our amazing team of adult leaders plays a vital part in this as we strive for authentic relationships and connection with our youth, leading to real “Be 1 of 5” discipleship and giving them a sense of belonging.

If you’d like to be a Grade Group Leader, a Host (a new opportunity to serve and connect with our youth),
or another youth ministry volunteer opportunity,
please email Brandon at bsangster@st.lukes.org.

COVID-19 PANDEMIC

As we come back together, either in our groups, ReConnect events, etc., St. Luke’s top priority is the health and safety of our congregation, staff, and community. We want to create a healthy environment that attends to the physical, mental, and spiritual needs of our youth. • Mask will be worn by all unvaccinated individuals (youth and adults) while indoors.
  • Follow Physical Distancing Practices.
  • Remain 6 feet from one another when possible.
  • Wash hands and/or use hand sanitizer frequently.

Yes, we are still in a pandemic… and things look different, but that’s ok! We may wear masks, but that’s ok… We will all smell like hand sanitizer and be socially distant, but that too is ok because WE’LL BE TOGETHER!

If you (parents and/or youth) have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Brandon by phone (407) 955- 4456 or by email (bsangster@st.lukes.org)

We are also now using Remind. A quick and easy text messaging platform that you as a parent may already be familiar with as a parent of a middle or high school student.

Text your code (listed below) to 81010 to stay updated with messages from St. Luke’s Youth sent straight to your phone as a short text message! Just one more way to keep you in the know!

Parents text @sly-parent to 81010

Youth text @sly-youth to 81010

We have adopted a new great way to get and stay informed and in community through SLACK. With SLACK, we will be able to send you messages, pictures, videos, etc. so that you’re set up for all that we have planned in this time and moving forward. We’ll send links to all the Zoom Gatherings, event registrations, Netflix Parties, and more each week. Don’t worry about not being too tech-savvy! It’s a really easy to navigate messaging app that will make our communication and youth ministry community even better.

A message board, group chat, and so much more that’ll keep us connected. It’s almost like our own social media platform, but so much secure and safer than others like Instagram, TikTok, and SnapChat. You’ll be set in channels where you can message your friends, leaders, and small groups. It’s the most fun group chats with all your favorite people! Youth will communicate with youth, and Parents we even have channels for you too! (Adult Leaders will be able to communicate with Youth and Parents) Be sure to adjust your notifications, and you can do so per channel you’re in so you’ll only get the notifications on the stuff you want.
