Dear St. Lukers,

As summer approaches, it comes with some changes to our routines here at St. Luke’s.

Families, with or without children, are invited to kick off the summer this Saturday with some fun in the sun at our Summer Splash event (click here to RSVP)! Water slides will be up on campus from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and we’ll be grilling hotdogs until we run out. We’ve planned activities for all ages, so bring a lawn chair (and a towel) and come on over.

This weekend will be our last live Sunday Night Bible Study before we take a break until August. However, we will continue to provide opportunities and resources for you to LEARN the story of Jesus through the gospels this summer. Each Monday, a new episode of the “Your Week with St. Luke’s” podcast will be published, along with questions for you to dig a little deeper and reflect on how to live out the story. You won’t want to miss these conversations with St. Lukers who are leading their everyday lives as Jesus would, using their gifts, passions, voices, and influence to reveal the Kingdom in unique ways! In July, we’ll shift to the Gospel of John and provide you lectures and materials to study on your own, even if you’re out of town. Discipleship is a life-long process, and we are committed to providing you with tools to help keep you growing.

Many of our Life Together groups will continue meeting, and new ones will form in the fall. If you are interested in facilitating a Life Together group starting in August, please send me an email and let me know. If you are willing to create a safe space where others can share their stories and learn in community with one another, we can equip you with tools to do so!

Throughout the year we’ve been challenging St. Lukers to Learn, Live, Love, and Lead like Jesus. Are you ready to partner with us in this work of awakening disciples who reveal the Kingdom? If you are new to this congregation, or a long-time attendee who is ready to make a commitment, join us this Sunday for our Partnership Class (click here to register)! Come find out what it means to be a Partner (Member) of St. Luke’s, and then be ready to take your vows on Pentecost Sunday.

Remember, Jesus’ call to each one of us is to make disciples. Who are you discipling? In whom are you investing time? Who are you preparing to take your place when you are called to a different task? School ends during the summer but discipleship continues. Make a commitment now to do something different this season!

See you on Sunday,

Liz Vasquez
