A Note from Pastor Jad-January 4, 2024

Posted on January 4, 2024 at 9:58 am in .

Merry Christmas (for just a little bit longer!), Happy New Year, and a Blessed (almost) Epiphany!

There is so much excitement happening as we finish up Christmas and start a new calendar year! I hope each of you has had a blessed time with friends and family remembering and celebrating God coming into our lives in Jesus Christ.

Things are beginning to buzz around St. Luke’s once again as everyone is getting back in town and preparing for the year to fully start. Decorations are coming down and plans for a new year are being lived out with purpose. I want to invite you to join us as we start 2024 off with great opportunities to Worship, Connect, Grow, Commit, and Serve.

One way is by joining us on Sunday for worship! Our regular worship schedule is back with Contemporary and Traditional services at 9:30 a.m., and our Blended service at 11:15 a.m. We will celebrate Holy Communion and begin the new year with the Wesley Covenant Renewal service. It will be a powerful time of worship, remembrance, and renewal! What a great way to start the year.

Then on Wednesday, January 10, all-new classes and programs kick-off for children, youth, and adults! There is MidPoint for all middle schoolers (6-8th grade) with fun, friends, and faith over in the Youth Center. Elementary-age kids (1st-5th grade) are invited for a time of their own with fun, friends, and faith in The Treehouse.

There are interesting discipleship options for adults, too! Another session of Pastor Melissa’s “Lead Your Life” class is starting (click here to register), we have various Life Together Groups starting up (click here for a full list of groups), and our Sanctuary Choir has begun weekly evening rehearsals again (if you’re interested in joining them just click here). I will also be leading a Wednesday night book study on author Parker J. Palmer’s book “Let Your Life Speak.” Palmer is a brilliant and powerful writer and teacher on leadership and spirituality, and I would love to see you there (click here to register). Sign up to join us and start your year off growing more deeply in your faith journey as we all seek to live a more purposeful life.

See you Sunday!

Grace and Peace,

Pastor Jad
