Holiday Bags of Grace

Let’s embrace the spirit of giving this holiday season! St. Luke’s is organizing a Bags of Grace food collection for 100 of the most vulnerable children at our partner elementary schools over the break because hunger does not take a break. While school is out this holiday season families who rely on school meals face food insecurity.

12% of children in St. Luke’s partner school Maxey Elementary and 5% at Mollie Ray are facing increased food insecurity and hunger. This list below will help us bridge the food gap food for a family of four for 4 days. Food sources for protein are often hard to find. Our goal is to collect enough food to give each family 2 bags of all the food listed below.

  • Canned tuna (4 cans, 5 or 6 oz.)
  • Canned veggies—green beans, corn, mixed veggies (4 cans ,4.5 oz.)
  • Canned chicken (4 cans, 9 to 12 oz.)
  • Canned fruit (4 cans, 15 oz.)
  • Cereal (1 box)
  • Jelly (1 medium jar)
  • Macaroni and Cheese (2 boxes)
  • Mashed potatoes (15 oz. box)
  • Pasta/Spaghetti (2 boxes)
  • Pasta sauce (1 jar)
  • Peanut Butter (16 oz. jar)
  • Rice (2 boxes or 2 small bags)
  • Soups: Chicken & Rice, Chicken Noodle, Vegetable (4 cans)
(No Cream of Mushroom or broths please)
